Letters

So I wrote a letter to the new commissioner of baseball. I put it on my blog, but I also actually sent it to him. I bet he'll write back. How busy could he be? There are no games right now and they've been doing baseball seasons for over a hundred years. There isn't a lot of innovation going on in baseball. The NFL commissioner is busy. It seems like they've always got issues. Baseball has them too, but they seem a lot tamer.

Anyway, I bet he'll write me back. That would be fun. Lately I've written (e-mailed) a couple other people. One was a sports writer that wrote an article I really liked. It had his e-mail listed at the bottom of the article and said you could write to him. So I did. And he wrote me back. I don't think I had ever done that before. One time I did call the people at Kellogg's. They had an 800 number for customer comments. Cocoa Krispies is my all-time favorite cereal (although frosted mini-wheats is making a run for the # 1 ranking. I'll keep you posted.) and they changed the taste. It was way more chocolaty. I like chocolate, but it was just a little too much at breakfast time. Also they changed their cover. I think it was Snagglepuss or something on the cover and they changed it to some dumb old bird. Ticked me off. I was quite polite, but I let them know my displeasure at the downward turn Cocoa Krispies seemed to be taking. Not long after that, it got a lot better. I like to think I has something to do with that. You're welcome, America. I called Kellogg's back another time, basically just to say, "Keep up the good work". The guy seemed kind of surprised that I called to just say that. I don't think he gets a lot of calls. I imagine it gets kind of lonely for him. I picture him just sitting at his desk hoping for the phone to ring. You might give him a call.

I'm digressing. So, I wrote the sports guy. Also, I'm working on a book. It's pretty nerdy, so I won't bore you with that. But I wrote to a guy at NASA about an article. He wrote me back too. These weren't super important people, but I was surprised to hear back from them. So now I'm optimistic about the new commissioner.
