Oregon

It is now three days until the Oregon Ducks play in the national championship game. I was confident, even cocky, this past week. Now I'm not feeling so sure of my self. I just saw on the news that one of the Ducks' best receivers is out due to testing positive for drugs. I thought we do sports in school because it builds character and fosters qualities like teamwork. This guy does have either one. In fact it seems like the typical star athlete has less character and more self-centeredness that the typical person on the street. But I could be wrong.

I really like the Oregon coach. I feel we've bonded. 1.) We grew up in the same town - Medford, Oregon, 2.) We went to the same college - Southern Oregon, 3.) We both love the Ducks. I almost went to U of O. I would have run cross country and track there. I wouldn't have been one of their studs, but just getting to wear their uniform would have been enough for me. In the end I decided it wasn't worth the extra thousands of dollars it would have cost. But it was close.

The Oregon coaches got ripped by PTI today. Michael Wilbon was making fun of the Oregon coaches because they don't yell at their players. He thinks they're being soft. Michael, as you like to say, "Just shut up". I hate yellers. Their pompous and stupid. If I'm doing something wrong, just tell me and I'll fix it. It's that simple. I'm not going to be motivated by you yelling at me. Your lack of self control is not a motivator. If you're on some power hungry, motivate by fear trip, get off it. Get some counseling. YOU GUYS ARE JERKS!!!! I'm sorry, I mean, You guys are jerks.

So over the next three days I'm going to work on lowering my expectations. If we lose, life will go on. Deep, cleansing breath.
