Sir Elton John

Two days ago I saw Elton. Its my eighth time. I haven't hit the point of diminishing returns yet. I couldn't have just stayed on number seven. Eight is an even number. Then again, nine is a perfect square. We have a base ten number system. Eleven is a palindrome. Twelve is an even number. Thirteen - I got nothing for thirteen. But that's ok. I can justify at least four more concerts.

I was decked out with my my Elton tickets, my Elton T-shirt, my Elton sweatshirt, and my Elton hat. Yeah, I was quite a sight. That's alright, I didn't know anybody in that city anyway. The concert was, of course, great. He did four songs I had never heard him do live before - including on of the best song titles ever - "Your Sister Can't Twist, But She Can Rock n Roll". It's fun for me trying to predict the song line up. He started with Love Lies Bleeding. I had predicted that. He usually does that one first, although I've also seen him lead off with Bennie and the Jets or the Bitch is Back. Speaking of that, it takes me back to the time when a group of kindergartners came to visit me in my office. All was cool. I had Elton playing, but then a song ended and the Bitch is Back came on. I hope they didn't notice or at least were not scarred too much or at least didn't tell their parents.

The encore was Crocodile Rock and Circle of Life. Nice. Circle of Life was just him at the piano. Especially nice.
