Today is "Derby Day". I'm not all that into it, but the rest of the state seems to be. It was all over the news this whole week. Two months ago they were mentioning how many days away it was in their "Countdown to the Derby". They take this seriously. Its not the same thing, but I went there in September and you can go to Churchill Downs and see a race every half-hour for $3.
Speaking of sports, my beloved Trailblazers move on in the playoffs. I taped it (or whatever that is called now) and watched it this morning. It came on at a reasonable 7:45 p.m Pacific Time and a ridiculous 10:45 Eastern Time. That is how I watch almost any game. I can watch at a reasonable hour, fast forward through commercials, and watch the game winning shot like twenty times in a row - which I did.
The commissioner made a big ruling against the Clippers owner this week. While your at it, do something about all the time outs at the end of the game. I happened onto a game that was close with 49 seconds to play. I thought I would watch it, but I figured it would take 10 minutes. So I timed it. It took 14. Seriously, it would be a lot more exciting without all the time outs at the end. You could say teams can only take one time out each in the final minute. Some thing like that. I should be the commissioner.
Finally, hats off the the Charlotte Bobcats who got swept by Miami. I saw them this year. They beat up on the Bucks, the worst team in the league. Fun fact: The Bucks played 82 games and their longest winning streak was one game. Anyway that was the game where I was sure I say the Bobcats' owner - Michael Jordon. From the altitude I was seated at, it was a little hard to tell, but he had good seats and looked like him. It looked like he was wearing the white Fruit of the Loom t-shirts he advertises all the time. Its got to be him. I took about 20 pictures with the zoom on my camera. I went down for a closer look. Not him. Fail.
