Kentucky in the News

Kentucky has been in the news lately.

1. A couple sinkholes in Bowling Green. Unfortunately one of the was at the Corvette museum and it swallowed a bunch of cars. Expensive ones. They started fishing them out the last couple days. I'm guessing they're probably totaled. They just should have covered them up and given them a proper burial. All the of the Corvettes are made are made right there in Bowling Green. They might want to rethink that.

2. A while ago a pastor in Middlesboro was killed by a poisonous snake during a church service. It made the national news. Middlesboro is less than an hour from here. There are quite a few "snake handling" churches around here. They talk about bringing out "the blue boxes". Apparently when those come out, get ready. They service is about to get a whole lot more interesting. You don't just visit a church around here without doing some research first. Otherwise you might find yourself in a situation out of your comfort zone. Churches get this idea from the last part of the book of Mark. That ending is a disputed section as to whether it is original or a later add-on. If an add-on, especially something concerning snake handling, it might give you some pause. "P.S., Don't worry about poisonous snakes. They can't hurt you."

3. Kentucky basketball is having a rough go of it right now. We've lost two in a row. The Eastern half of Kentucky is in shock and/or mourning. The Western half of the state are Louisville Cardinal fans and are dead to us. We should be a lock for the March Madness tournament, but its looking like it might not be a high seed. Go Big Blue.
