Charleston

Charleston is quite an adorable city. The touristy, downtown section is like yuppie heaven. As I traveled through South Carolina it seemed to have a percentage of black people. Downtown Charleston is about as white as the Arctic. The area had typical yuppie, white people stuff. There were carriage rides, art museums, and the kind of restaurants you would expected to see the cast of Friends eating at. I had a snack at a bakery. It had scones, lattes, and Jack Johnson music playing. To connect with the other yuppies, I would have had a latte and a scone, but I'm not exactly sure what those things are, so I passed.

There is a lot more history than I realized in Charleston. I knew it had Fort Sumter, but also other forts. The battle that was featured in the movie Glory was fought just a few miles from the city. A number of buildings are still standing that are from the 1700's. A cool city to visit, especially if you're a yuppie.
