I'm watching a lot of news today. The debt ceiling shutdown debate is going on. Our news stations are all kind of grouped together, so I'm shuttling between CNN, Headline News, CNBC, Fox News, CSPAN, and CSPAN 2. I've heard there is a CSPAN 3, but I've never seen it. Since I'm one of only a couple dozen viewers of CSPAN, so I'm not sure they're going to add CSPAN 3 to the system I have. They've all been fairly helpful. Occasionally, Headline News will drop its debt ceiling coverage to deal with breaking news from Dancing with the Stars and once in a while Fox News has not been completely fair and balanced, but overall they've all had interesting stuff.By the way, I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but what kind of name is Wolf Blitzer, anyway? Was he raised by wolves perhaps? Maybe its his stage name, but that only make sense if he was going to be a professional wrestler or something. I don't get it.
Its pretty easy to see which senators and representatives are trying to get an agreement and which ones are using every opportunity to blame the other side or at least get on TV. There are a lot of individuals talking to cameras when it seems like they should be in meetings talking with each other. This is probably too simplified, but almost every congressman that talks, I can classify as level headed or dumb. They're all probably smart IQ-wise, but you're not going to make get an agreement with people that you keep insulting on TV.
I like watching historical stuff when it happens. Several years ago I stayed up to about 5 a.m. to watch Diana's funeral going on in England. In this case, I don't want us to default, but it would make for some good TV viewing for me.
