MSNBC vs. Fox

The government shutdown is over now. I watched a lot of the news in the last couple days. There are pretty responsible news stations and a few that aren't even trying. A few years ago I heard an interview where Walter Cronkite talked about how the news has gone downhill. He said that instead of watching the news and then using that to form your opinions, people decide what their opinions are and then find a news station that slants things to fit their opinions. I'm just assuming he was talking about Fox and MSNBC. I can actually deal better with Fox than MSNBC. That goes along with my basic observation that the far left and the far right are equally smarmy, but Republicans come off looking better. When Democrats talk about how much they care for people and then resort to name calling and other put downs of their opponents, they just come off as completely hypocritical. And on MSNBC they do it in the most condescending way possible. At least Republicans seem to know they're basically kind of black hearted, so don't come off so bad even when they're at their worst. Also, the Fox News people are a lot better looking. Not to be cruel, but some of those CNBC folks are just kind of odd looking, (e.g., Rachel Maddow.) So, the Fox folks are just as biased as the MSNBCers. At MSNBC they act like the other side is stupid and worthy of their smirks and eye rolls. Because they are affiliated with NBC, I don't really like to watch NBC for news. I trust CNN and CBS the most. CBS mostly because I assume the ghost of Walter Cronkite is still hanging out in their newsroom keeping it real.
