Fireworks

I'm typing this at a McDonald's right now. I have no internet access at home, so I have to leech off McDonald's or the public library. I brought a Harry Potter book with me. It occurs to me that I've become king of the nerds. If I was ever cool (I was not), those days are long gone. I also just did a crossword puzzle while sitting here, cementing my kingship. I think I might have mentioned before how uncanny the similarity of my dorm in college to the people on the Big Bang Theory. We were the "Math/Science Dorm". Yeah, we were some cool dudes. We prided ourselves on having the highest g.p.a. and the least fun of anyone on campus.

Anyway, I decided I would read all of the Harry Potter books. I'm halfway through the last one. I actually read it when it first came out, but I hadn't read several of the other ones, so it was a little confusing for me. It's making more sense this time through.

I saw fireworks last night. We happened to sit in a great location, so we were right by them. It was probably second best location I've been in. I happened to be in Philadelphia on another 4th of July. I laid on the grass in front of Independence Hall and watched them shoot fireworks over it. How cool is that? I remember that afternoon, there was a guy giving some kind of patriotic speech. I later saw in the Guinness Book of World Records he was in the midst of giving the longest speech of all-time. I would have paid more attention if I knew that at the time.
