Apologies

I was in Wal-Mart today. I thought it would be cool to get a shirt commemorating Louisville's national championship team. Nope. That's how deeply held the animosity between UK and Louisville University is. Not a single shirt. It's only 3 hours away. I would think they would be selling shirts, hats - anything they could get their logo on. When I'm in Oregon I'm about 3 hours from U of O. Imagine  How many T-shirts etc would there be if U of O won a national championship? It would be huge. So anyway, not a single item commemorating the Louisville championship. Amazing. They did have lots of other T-shirts, though. It appeared about 90% of the shirts are split between University of Kentucky and Duck Dynasty. Everything else fights for that last 10%.

I would like to make a couple apologies. In a previous blog I kind of trashed the guy on commercials that talks to the kids. On second thought, those commercials are OK I guess. What turned the tide for me was the commercial when instead of little kids, he's talking to the NBA greats - Bill Russell, Larry Bird, etc. That was hilarious. I also read something that said they didn't have kids memorize their lines ahead of time. I assume they had. They sometimes have to take several takes, but apparently its all unscripted.

I also previously kind of trashed Benjamin Franklin. Everyone seems to love him except me. Now I feel bad. I still think he's overrated. But that's not his doing. The fact that history has elevated him a little higher than I think he should be isn't his fault. I 'm sorry Ben.
