The Super Bowl

You might be wanting to place bets on the Super Bowl and are just waiting to hear my thoughts before you make your decision. I don't place bets on anything. I don't even know how to, although I know it can be done. By the way, that fact alone puts me closer to the Hall of Fame than my buddy Pete. All I need is another 4,000 hits and I'm a lock.

I'm going with New England on the basis of moral superiority. I have never liked the Giants because of their quarterback situation. Eli Manning was drafted out of college by a bad team. He refused to play for them. I don't know how he ended up succeeding in this, but he pouted until he ended up with a contender, the NY Giants. Why did he get his way? The commisioner shouldn't have let that happen. That is why certain teams, e.g. the Seattle Mariners, lose year after year. Nobody wants to play for them. They never get on national TV, they don't win, even if deserving, their players don't get voted for awards. So they develop a few players, that end up chosing to go to or are bought by the Yankees or Red Sox. So Eli is a winner basically because he cried until he got put on a winning team. (No offense, Eli. Other than that you seem like a nice guy.)

There are other moral issues. The people of New York City vs The People of New England. New Englanders spend all their time going to church and making maple syrup. I'm not sure exactly what New Yorkers do, but I don't think its as wholesome. A Patriot is a morally upright individual. Giants are scary.

I'm sure I'll be wrong, but I'll predict a final score. How cool would it be if I end up being right. Here we go --- New England 24, New York 13.
