Lava lamp

I would like a lava lamp for Christmas. It has been on my list before and I haven't acquired one yet. I'm not using my blog to ask for one. Just letting you know I like them. I'm not sure when they were most in style, but I'm guessing they've peaked in popularity. I want one anyway. I imagine having it on when I'm in bed, just watching it do its thing. It would be a calming way to go to sleep.

I don't need it this year, but I keep putting it on my list because persistence pays off. I remember as a lad putting Rockem Sockem Robots on every birthday and Christmas list. After about a decade I finally got it. After all that time wanting it, it would be tough for it to meet my expectations. It didn't. They did not seem to have the mobility shown in commercials. Also, there was no strategy. Just use your thumbs as fast as you can to keep punching as many times as possible until you, as the commercial stated, "Knock his block off". The ones I had were fairly sensitive. If you blinked real hard, his block could be knocked off. It was lame enough that it was tough to get others to play with me. Its really not a very good one-person toy. I wouldn't be disappointed with a lava lamp, though. You know exactly what you're getting. Globs go up. Globs go down.
